Genuine Rawlings Gold Glove Award on Display at Cleats

The Rawlings Gold Glove Award is the highest symbol of defensive excellence in Major League Baseball. Players who earn this award are considered “the Finest in the Field.” Rawlings began giving players this award in 1957, with nine players receiving it. The next year, in 1958, eighteen players started receiving it and that is the way it’s been ever since. One player from each defensive position including the pitcher competes for this honor. The award itself is a gold lamé-tanned leather glove and is affixed to a walnut base.

Rawlings has given us a Gold Glove Award for display at Cleats Sports. We have a genuine version of the same award that is given to players along with full list of all of the 2009 winners on our display case. This is a truly unique item, so be sure to stop by today and check out a piece of history.
